Mechanical Designer-CAD/Solid Modeling
The successful candidate will be part of the engineering team for the development and implementation of aerospace flight hardware. Typical activities include preparing layouts, detailed production drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams in support of engineering development projects; participation in engineering and general design reviews; and assisting with proposal and technical documentation.
CAD design, primarily utilizing Solidworks, in support of engineering development projects
Design tasks must focus on meeting customer and internal safety, performance, certification, cost and timing objectives
Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings
Perform preliminary and advanced work in development of working layouts and final master drawings, adequate for detailing parts and units of design for new proposals as well as current designs
Participate in engineering and general design reviews as required
Assist with the preparation of proposal documentation and technical documents such as qualification test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc.
Assist in maintaining supplier network relations
Interact with vendors and customers on engineering design issues
Work effectively in a team environment
A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering degree required. Must be a self-starter with strong solid modeling design skills and experience, preferably within a product development or manufacturing environment. You must have the capacity to see your designs through to completion while communicating effectively with personnel along the way. Prior experience with Solidworks strongly desired, with a minimum of 2-5 yrs experience preferred. Experience with ISO 9001 preferred.
